The Company

Our client is a major player in the civil construction industry and are recognised for delivering complex infrastructure projects safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Project Controls Specialist to support the successful delivery of large-scale civil construction projects across the Auckland region.

The Role

This is a senior role within the business and is ideal for someone who thrives in a delivery-focused environment, enjoys solving complex cost and scheduling challenges, and understands that strong project controls underpin commercial success.


Responsibilities

  • Supporting planning, control, and reporting functions across projects, ensuring targets for safety, quality, cost, programme, and risk are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Scope and deliverables management
  • Development and maintenance of WBS/CBS structures
  • Programme planning, schedule management and forecasting
  • Cost estimating and budgeting
  • Cost control, analysis, and forecasting
  • Trend analysis and scope change assessment
  • Quantity take-offs, gains and omissions reporting
  • Risk assessment and mitigation
  • Delay claims quantification
  • Forensic schedule analysis
  • Supporting subcontractor and supplier appointments
  • Monthly certifications and payment processes

Skills And Experience

  • A relevant tertiary qualification (Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, construction management, or similar)
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in civil construction, project controls, or contract services
  • Proven experience using the CANDY (CCS) planning and cost control software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management capability
  • Solid understanding of construction sequencing, productivity, and cost drivers
  • Ability to interpret drawings and technical documentation
